What is it and what is it for?
Chlorhexidine Lacer Bioadhesive Gel is an Adjuvant gel in the treatment of gingivitis and periodontitis. Through the topical application of this gel, long-lasting antimicrobial activity is achieved due to its improved adhesiveness. It allows the action combined with its active ingredients to be enhanced.
Bacterial plaque is the main factor involved in the development of periodontal disease, giving rise to gingivitis and, in a more advanced process, periodontitis, when it affects the periodontal ligaments and bone tissue.
Chlorhexidine is an effective broad-spectrum antiseptic against plaque microorganisms. Its action is rapid and maintains its effect for a long period of time, avoiding possible bacterial recolonization of the oral cavity. It acts at different levels:
- Eliminates the existing bacterial plaque structure.
- Inhibits the adhesion of muco-salivary proteins.
- Inhibits the formation of new bacterial plaque.
- Destroys the microorganisms responsible for the formation of bacterial plaque.
Cymentol enhances this antimicrobial action, increasing the effectiveness of Chlorhexidine Lacer Bioadhesive Gel.
Chlorhexidine Lacer Bioadhesive Gel increases the adhesion of the active ingredients on oral surfaces and thanks to its possibility of application in specific areas (precise application) it achieves greater localization of the active ingredients at their application site. This gel facilitates the absorption of chlorhexidine in the gums, increasing the availability of the active ingredient within the gingival tissues.
The control of dental plaque exerted by Chlorhexidine Lacer Bioadhesive Gel is an important help both before any oral surgery and during the post-surgery healing phases. It is also indicated as an adjuvant in the dental prophylaxis of irradiated patients (rampant caries). Useful for controlling dental plaque in implantology, orthodontics, gerodontology and special dentistry.
How to use?
Apply the gel directly to the gum near the teeth (gingival sulcus) with the help of your finger or cannula, if the condition of the gum requires it. Massage gently with your fingertips to promote the absorption of the gel, so that it forms a thin protective film between tooth and gum.
Apply 2 or 3 times a day, after proper oral hygiene and it is recommended not to ingest any liquid or food until half an hour after use. The greatest effectiveness is achieved in night applications.
