What is it and what is it for?
Betadine vaginal solution contains povidone iodine, the active ingredient of this medicine is an antiseptic (which destroys germs that cause infections) that contains iodine.
Betadine is indicated as a topical vaginal antiseptic used for antiseptic washing of the external vaginal area and for the relief of symptoms associated with vaginal infections.
An alteration in the balance of the protective vaginal flora can cause the growth of bacteria and fungi.
The most common symptoms of vaginitis are increased vaginal discharge, unpleasant odor of the discharge, itching, stinging, and urinary discomfort.
How to act when faced with a vaginal infection?
In addition to the specific treatments prescribed by the doctor, there are measures that can help:
- Take a probiotic to restore the balance of the vaginal flora.
- Disinfect and clean the external vaginal area with an antiseptic such as vaginal povidone-iodine (20 ml in 1 L of warm, boiled water) to relieve symptoms.
- Vaginal infections can affect women and girls of all ages, although they are more common in women of childbearing age.
How to prevent infections?
- Monitor flora imbalances that may be caused by the use of antibiotics or contraceptives.
- Do not consume excess carbohydrates in your diet.
- Maintain good hygiene habits.
- Avoid too tight pants or underwear made of fabrics that do not breathe well.
- Do not use aggressive fabric softeners to wash underwear.

How to use?
Wash with a dilution of 20 ml of product (2 capfuls) per liter of warm, boiled water.
Apply 1 to 2 times a day (or more often, as needed).
Composition
Each ml of betadine vaginal solution contains 100 mg of povidone-iodine.
Excipients: macrogol 9 lauryl ether, sodium hydroxide (E 524) and purified water.
Warnings and Contraindications
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
External use. Do not eat.
It does not require any special storage conditions.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiration date is the last day of the month indicated.
