What is it and what is it for?
Pankreoflat belongs to a group of medicines known as pancreatic enzymes and their combinations.
What is Pancreatin?
Pancreatin contains three types of pancreatic enzymes: lipase, amylase, and proteases, which break down lipids, sugars, and proteins, respectively. The products that result from this pancreatic digestion are absorbed directly or after another step by other intestinal enzymes. Pancreatic enzymes, therefore, facilitate digestion and promote the absorption of food in those people whose body is not capable of manufacturing them.
Pankreoflat is indicated for the symptomatic relief of digestive disorders in which aerophagia or flatulence occurs, such as heaviness of the stomach and slow digestion related to insufficiency of pancreatic enzymes, in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age. The most common digestive symptoms are:
- Slow digestion
- Fullness or satiety
- Stomach heaviness
As well as those that are related to excess gases in the digestive system:
- Flatulence
It has DOUBLE ACTION, thanks to its two active ingredients:
- DIMETHICONE: Helps eliminate gases and relieves flatulence since it acts by modifying the surface tension of the gas bubbles, thus causing their coalescence and favoring their elimination.
- PANCREATIN: Helps improve stomach heaviness and slow digestion. Improves stomach heaviness and slow digestion related to pancreatic enzyme insufficiency.
For more information, see the patient information leaflet.
How to use?
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: the recommended dose is 1 to 2 coated tablets with each main meal. The dose should be adjusted individually according to symptoms and the fat content of the diet.
The tablets should be taken whole, without chewing or breaking, with enough liquid (water), during or after main meals.

Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Store below 30ºC.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the package. The expiration date is the last day of the month indicated.
Do not take Pankreoflat
- If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to pancreatin (lipase, amylase, protease) of porcine origin, dimethicone, cow’s milk protein or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- If you suffer from acute pancreatitis (acute inflammation of the pancreas).
Children
Pankreoflat is not recommended for the treatment of infant colic due to lack of information in this patient population.
This medicine contains sucrose. This medicine contains lactose. This medication may cause allergic reactions in patients with an allergy to cow’s milk protein. This medicine may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed) because it contains methyl parahydrozibenzoate (E-218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E-216).
This medicine contains less than 23 mg sodium (1 mmol) per tablet; that is, essentially “sodium-free”
